EVOLUTION® Isolation Gaskets

The EVOLUTION® Isolation Gasket is GPT's patented, fully encapsulated flange isolation solution, developed to provide dependable electrical isolation, leak prevention, and long-term sealing performance in critical pipeline applications. Designed for use in oil and gas, petrochemical, water, and industrial systems, EVOLUTION® helps protect pipeline assets from corrosion while supporting effective cathodic protection programmes.

Unlike many conventional isolation gaskets, EVOLUTION® features a slim 1/8-inch (3 mm) profile, making installation easier and reducing many of the alignment and assembly challenges associated with thicker gasket designs. The fully encapsulated construction allows the gasket to remain in place during hydrostatic testing without compromising its electrical isolation properties.

EVOLUTION is positioned as a fully encapsulated isolation gasket with high dielectric performance, hydrotest retention, and resistance to harsh oil and gas environments. Flange isolation gaskets, cathodic protection, corrosion prevention, fire-safe sealing, and pipeline integrity.

At the heart of the design is a proprietary GPT coating specifically engineered for demanding oil and gas environments. This advanced material delivers outstanding resistance to impact, abrasion, and mechanical damage while maintaining performance when exposed to aggressive media commonly found in pipeline systems. The coating is resistant to H₂S, steam, CO, CO₂, and numerous corrosive chemicals encountered in upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.

EVOLUTION® has successfully achieved API 6FB fire test recognition across multiple sizes and pressure classes, demonstrating its ability to maintain sealing integrity under fire exposure conditions. The gasket also provides a significantly higher temperature capability than traditional GRE-based isolation gaskets, making it suitable for more demanding operating environments.

Unlike conventional GRE products that may be vulnerable to permeation, hydrolysis, chemical attack, thermal degradation, emissions, blowout, and fire-related failures, EVOLUTION® is engineered to provide enhanced reliability throughout the service life of the pipeline. Its advanced design helps minimize flange corrosion, improve sealing performance, and maintain electrical isolation in aggressive operating conditions.

The gasket's monolithic construction eliminates the laminated layers commonly found in many GRE isolation products. By removing the risk of delamination, EVOLUTION® offers improved structural integrity, increased durability, and reliable performance in high-pressure applications.

When installed with mica insulating sleeves and washers, EVOLUTION® is suitable for operating temperatures up to 500°F (260°C). Extensive qualification testing has been completed, including successful API 6FB 3rd Edition Fire Testing, providing confidence in safety-critical and high-consequence service applications.
