Isolation gaskets are available in both **Type E (Full Face)** and **Type F (Ring Type)** configurations to meet a wide range of piping and flange insulation requirements.

- Type E Gasket (Full Face)
The Type E gasket retainer extends to the outside diameter (O.D.) of the flange. Bolt holes are machined on the bolt circle to accommodate threaded studs and isolating sleeves.

The Type F gasket retainer extends to the inside diameter (I.D.) of the bolt circle. Threaded studs and isolating sleeves automatically center the gasket within the flange assembly.

Each threaded stud in a single washer set flange isolation kit includes:
- One (1) 1/8-inch thick steel washer
- One (1) isolating washer

Cathodic Protection & Buried Pipeline Applications
For buried pipeline installations, single washer configurations are commonly used to allow cathodic protection (CP) current to reach exposed nuts and bolts while maintaining effective flange isolation.
Where required, nuts located on the opposite side of the catholically protected flange can also be incorporated into the protected system, helping improve overall corrosion control and asset integrity.

The LineBacker® gasket is constructed from G10 glass-reinforced epoxy (GRE). LineBacker® contains a rectangular sealing element referred to as a “quad-ring.” Its quad-ring is used in combination with a unique, engineered groove design and together they provide an effective sealing element that also requires less bolt load than a typical flat gasket.
Sleeves and washers offered with the LineBacker® gasket are completely temperature dependent. Most commonly used are Mylar and G10 sleeves accompanied by G10 and zinc plated steel washers. Sleeve will be designed to mate with separate isolating washers and will be of a length such that the sleeve extends into one and one-half washer thicknesses on each side of the flange.
